The Mechanical subteam designs and constructs the physical robot. This team is trained in CAD, manufacturing, and assembly to plan and build a robot in preparation for competition. The Mechanical subteam works closely with Programming and Scouting and Strategy to prepare a strategically efficient design and ensure proper communication between the robot's hardware and software.
The Controls subteam is responsible for the robot's programming, wiring, and sensor feedback integration. The controls subteam leverages Java to create autonomous movement and intuitive controls for the robot's drivers. This team works closely with the Mechanical subteam to ensure smooth functionality of the robot in preparation of competition.
The Business subteam's tasks cover the media, outreach, and fundraising needs of the team. This includes organizing fundraisers, planning outreach and volunteering, coordinating communication with potential mentors and sponsors, designing imagery for the Pioneers brand, and preparing the necessary materials for awards throughout competition. This team also takes care of media taken throughout competition and manages the team's social media across Instagram, Youtube, and Facebook.
The Scouting and Strategy subteam is responsible for choosing the strategy for the team's robot, analyzing and collecting data of matches at competitions, and working with other teams on the best method of gameplay that would ensure the alliance's success. This team works closely with Mechanical to build the ideal robot for the year's game.
