Team 7525 was able to showcase their robot to the students of Adventura Community School during their STEM Night. Attendees were able to interact with our robot, ask questions, and view gameplay of our robots at competition. At the end of the night, we had the opportunity to present a robot demonstration, displaying the robot's abilities and design in action.
Throughout June of 2023, members of Team 7525 assisted in running a summer camp in preparation for Adventura's new and upcoming Lego League team. In this camp, students were tasked with building robots out of plastic bricks, creating tanks that could be moved by a controller.
Members of the Pioneers assisted in welcoming all athletes during the opening ceremony and the Skills Competition at the Special Olympics TN State Flag Football Tournament. The Skills Competition consisted of challenges that tested five different skills which included throwing for distance, throwing for accuracy, run and catch, agility and speed, and flag pulling. The Pioneers members assisted athletes with completing each challenge to receive a medal, representing their proficiency of all 5 skills.
At the Special Olympics Summer Games, we provided athletes and attendees with water misters; these water misters were created to minimize the effects of the hot heat, ensuring that everyone stays cool during the event's intensive games. We also provided custom-made tattoos based on our team's logo and mascot.
The Pioneers ran three engineering activities for the kickoff of the Adventure Science Center Engineering Week.
One of our activities included teaching children how to control and interact with Sphero bots that could be driven around on a table, knock over pieces, and drive through hollow obstacles. Volunteers from our team instructed our audience on how to control the robots via iPad.
The second activity utilized robots that followed lines created by tape placed down by participants. Participants could either have their robots follow the lines or drive with free control. The last activity included the Makey Makey Piano, allowing participants to play musical notes from touching produce hooked up to a computer program.
